The Big Cat Sanctuary's proud to announce that two Snow leopard cubs were born on 1st July 2023. As little as £5 could provide the cubs with fresh bedding, help with the cost of vaccinations and support parents Laila and Yarko.

Story

The Big Cat Sanctuary is raising money the support our brand-new Snow leopard cubs.

Over the past few months, Keeper Simon Jackaman and The Big Cat Sanctuary team accomplished an extraordinary feat by successfully teaching Laila, a female Snow leopard, to willingly undergo an ultrasound examination with our veterinarian, Valerie Freeman. This breakthrough revealed that Laila was pregnant, enabling the keeping team to begin preparations for her impending birth. This remarkable achievement highlighted the deep bond and trust between Laila and Simon who is her primary trainer, and helped the team prepare for this new chapter in Laila's life.

On the 1st of July Laila successfully gave birth to two beautiful cubs, a boy and a girl who are named, "Spot" and "Stripe" as the female has a long stripe running down her back. There will be a naming competition running in the next few months.
