From a young age, I’ve always had a strong sense of community and a desire to help others wherever I can. Supporting people and giving back has always been important to me, which is why I’m proud to be taking part in Alfie’s Squad’s Race for a Reason 2026.

What makes it even more special for me is that I’ll be doing it alongside my son Brandon, who is 16 and currently in sixth form. As a dad, I think it’s really important for him to see first-hand the difference we can make by helping others, and I’m incredibly proud that he wants to take on the challenge with me. It’ll be a brilliant experience for us to share together while raising money for such an important cause.

I first became aware of Alfie’s Squad through a good friend of mine, Hilda Yarker, and was deeply moved by both Alfie’s story and the incredible work the charity is doing. Alfie lost his dad to suicide when he was just eight years old. After struggling to find the right support himself, he created Alfie’s Squad to help other children and young people facing the same heartbreaking experience.

From Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October, Brandon and I will be taking part in Race for a Reason 2026, a unique challenge that will test our teamwork, problem-solving skills and determination as we follow clues and travel to secret locations across the country, all while raising vital funds and awareness for Alfie’s Squad.

Since launching in 2023, Alfie’s Squad has supported children and young people aged 6–17 and their families following suicide bereavement, creating safe spaces where young people can build confidence, form friendships and connect with others who genuinely understand what they are going through.

No child or young person should have to face something like this alone. By supporting us, you’re helping Alfie’s Squad continue providing the care, friendship and support families need during some of the hardest times of their lives.

For me, this challenge is about more than raising money. It’s about doing something meaningful with my son, showing Brandon the importance of giving back, and hopefully helping other young people and families along the way.
