100-mile trek from Bournemouth to Budleigh Salterton

The Steve Bernard Foundation was set up in memory of Stevie B following his tragic passing in November 2005. Formed in Feb 2006, the SBF has gone on to raise over £500k for sporting projects based across the South Coast. We have supported more than 400 projects in 60 sports and 4 continents.

Story

UPDATE - 3rd April

Since starting this page, I received some devastating news in that one of my best mates since school, Seb Chadwick, passed away on Monday 25th March. Seb collapsed during a football match for Civil Service FC after suffering a brain aneurysm which burst during the game. Despite the paramedics best efforts, there was nothing they could do.

Like me, Seb was a friend and teammate of Steve Bernard, and so this trek is now in honour of both Stevie & Seb.

The Steve Bernard Foundation is a charity very close to my heart, having known 'Stevie B' as a friend and (incredibly talented) teammate at Christchurch FC in my younger years. He tragically lost his life in November 2005 in a car accident at just 18-years of age.

A year after his passing, The Steve Bernard Foundation was setup in his memory to support and empower people from all backgrounds in their sporting endeavours.

Run solely by volunteers, they have supported more than 650 projects covering over 60 sports, and raised almost £700,000 to date.

And now, after, quite frankly, too many poor excuses, it's my turn to contribute.

In May, I'll be heading off on a 100-mile solo mission from Bournemouth to Budleigh Salterton. With nothing but a tent on my back and plenty of Compeed on my feet, the trek should (hopefully) take me five days along the South West Coast Path.

I'm aiming to raise as much money as possible for this great cause, so whatever you're able to spare will be very much appreciated!
