I am taking part in Faith in Schools Pentecost Sponsored Walk around Newham churches and schools which is happening on Saturday 14th June. This event is to celebrate many of our churches and school partnerships as well as raise funds. I aim to raise at least £1000 towards the £5000 team target for local pupils to meet Christians and visit churches.

Why not join me? We need people to help us spread the word, sponsor or decorate their church if it's on the route. I am walking the long route (12 miles). The launch point is St John’s Church, Broadway, Stratford, E15 1NG.

I have chosen to sponsor FIS/walk with FIS because they share the Gospel/love of Jesus with 30,000 Newham children at a time when 95% don't go to church. They provide excellent value for money - each pupil they work with costs £3.67 per year. I am also doing this to support my mother, Carol, who has worked there for years being a voice for Christ to children who may grow up without the gospel otherwise. Both of us love walking a long way, whether it'd be me walking across Nottingham or whether it'd be mother walking the South-West Coast Path with her side of the family. My final reason is I am a member of Highway Vineyard Church, like Claire Clinton, so I would like to support her, and to encourage fellow church members who haven't donated yet to do so.
