Story
My name is Jack Boston and I’m from Cardiff, Wales. I, like many others have watched in disbelief at the events happening across Palestine over the last 8 months. Seeing the intense suffering and killing of innocent people every single day has drawn me to raise funds and make what change I can by calling on the empathy and generosity of those around me.
In August 2024 I’m going to cycle From Lands End, The most southerly point of Cornwall to John O’Groats, at the Northern tip of Scotland. This journey will take me 1,000 miles across the entire length of the UK. I will carry all of my own luggage and will be self-sufficient for the entirety of the journey. I intend to complete the entire journey in 13 days or less. I have no doubt that it will be a highly demanding task both physically & logistically and I’m here to ask you to donate to my chosen charity.
I want the proceeds from this fundraising to go to MAP; Medical Aid for Palestinians. What we are all seeing in Palestine is nothing short of horrific. There is overwhelming evidence that the people in Occupied Palestine are being directly targeted and oppressed by the Israeli Army. The death toll currently stands at over 37,000, including 108 Journalists and 254 aid workers. The number of wounded is currently 83,680 and these numbers are rising every single day.
MAP were one of the first charities to aid the Palestinian people in Gaza. They also carry out essential work in The West Bank, East Jerusalem and Lebanon. Their intention is simple;
“MAP's vision is a future where all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable and locally-led system of healthcare, and the full realisation of their rights to health and dignity.”
We all deserve these basic rights and me must support organisations like this, who are down on ground level and providing the most needed aid to innocent people.
