Aniridia Network is a support group and charity for people affected by aniridia: those who have it plus their family, carers, and other support givers, as well as educators, doctors and researchers. We want all these people to be hopeful, confident, supported and well informed regarding aniridia.

Story

My Godson Finlay was born without irises (Aniridia) and is visually impaired. Children with aniridia typically have some level of vision; for example what Finlay can see at 6m is what we can see at 30m. Unfortunately this level of vision can degenerate over time and other eye conditions such as Nystagmus, Glaucoma, Cataracts, and Keratopathy develop

Finlay is now 8 and manages extremely well in main stream education, with great bravery and tenacity. He has just beaten his personal best in Park Run, loves surfing and is an absolute genius at maths.

I am raising money for Aniridia Network; a support group and charity for people affected by aniridia. It relies entirely on donations to support those who have the condition, alongside their families, carers, doctors, educators and other support givers.

To raise money for this fantastic and worthy charity, I am running the Clarendon Marathon this coming week end. It is an off road marathon, 26.2 miles up and down the hilly and now sodden footpath, between Salisbury and Winchester. I last ran a marathon 23 years (and many kilos) ago, so I would be extremely grateful for any donation you might be able to give!
