Story
I’m returning to Leeds to run the Rob Burrow Marathon on Sunday 14 May and raise money for Leeds Mind.
I’ve picked this charity for a few reasons. In 2021 I lost a friend named Jack Rice to suicide, and I want to run this race in his memory. Jack was an awesome guy who intrinsically asked good questions and was always interested in my life and ambitions. He was a great musical partner and an even greater friend.
I myself am no stranger to mental health difficulties, with depression, anxiety and intrusive thoughts being things I have to cope with. It's cliché but running truly is my greatest medicine in that regard.
I'm running the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon to aid Leeds Mind in their mission to ensure everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the respect and help that they deserve.
Thanks for taking the time to read this brief summary of my story, and thank you all for your donations so far.
