Story
On boxing day 2024, Jack and Chloe's 3 week old daughter Erin was admitted to William Harvey hospital with sickness, where after hours of tests it was found her body was in cardiogenic shock and her heart rate was 300bpm.
Jack and Chloe were told that she would need to be ventilated and cardioverted but this would be risky and there would be a chance she would not make it.
Thankfully, the procedure worked and an intensive care team from Evelina children's hospital came down and to transfer her to their care.
After 12 hours of working with Erin she was stable enough to be transferred to London Evelina hospital.
They then spent a further week with Erin being treated by their amazing team of doctors and nurses. Chloe and Jack were able to stay at McDonald House during this time, a place where parents with children being treated can stay to be close at hand.
Erin was diagnosed with a condition called Wolff Parkinsons White Pattern which caused her to be in SVT (supraventricular tachycardia).
Without their incredible care, Erin's future could have looked very different and we are incredibly grateful. She remains under the review of the cardiology team at Evelina and is currently being medicated.
On 20th August this year Jack, Ben and Sam will attempt to cycle from Blackwood (South Wales) to Dover (Kent) roughly 300 miles over 3 days.
Every pound raised will help Evelina London do incredible things for sick children, young people and their families.
