Story
'When life gives you lemons you make lemonade'.
In the face of adversity we dig deep and respond as best we can to the challenge that confronts us. That's what The Gavin Glynn Foundation (TGGF) and Mental Health Ireland do every day.
For children living with cancer who are unable to receive treatment in Ireland, TGGF provide access to cancer treatment overseas with no barriers to background.
Daniel Sampson, a former student of Belvedere College, was a recipient of such great care. Daniel's battle with cancer ended on June 17th 2024. He was a pillar of strength, resilience, courage and even joy right up to the end - an inspiration to all who encountered him.
His teacher and friend Conor Wynne Walsh knew he could do something to respond. He is making lemonade from the lemons. Conor, an athlete and coach, has decided to take on the gruelling Marathon Des Sables (MDS), an ultra marathon of 250km across the Sahara in memory of Daniel.
We support Conor and invite you to please do the same.
