Story
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a massively misunderstood mental illness, and one that can be debilitating for those suffering from it.
I was formally diagnosed last year and the best way I can describe it is as walking on eggshells within your own mind, and that, should even one of those shells come even remotely close to breaking, everything will invariably come tumbling down. It's a cruel condition, typically targeting what you value and care about most.
OCD UK is a wonderful charity whose aims include increasing awareness around and supporting those living with OCD. Amongst other things, they offer support groups, specialist forums and evidence-based resources not only for those experiencing OCD, but also for their loved ones.
This October, I'm running the Royal Parks Half Marathon, in London, to raise money for this charity; they do incredible, incredible work, and they make what can be an incredibly isolating disorder feel that little bit less scary. Thank you. ♥️
