Nine Edges Challenge For OSCAR's (Hewson Family)

Jack Hewson is raising money for OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity
OSCAR's are walking the Nine Edges in the Peak District to raise money for children with brain tumours and their families. Create your fundraising page here and find out how close we are to our target of £20,000 for the event on May 3rd 2026.

Story

On May 3rd 2026, the Hewson family will take part in the OSCAR's Family Challenge - walking the Nine Edges in the Peak District.

The Nine Edges spans 23 miles with over 1,000 meters of incline. While it is hard going - particularly for little legs - it is nothing compared to what Oscar and other children with brain tumours have to endure and that definitely puts this physical challenge into perspective.

This is our 5th Oscar's challenge and every year we have been completely blown away by the incredible support from our friends, family and even strangers who have been touched by Oscar's story.

We will be walking 12 years to the weekend that Oscar Hughes died of a brain tumour aged just 9. Oscar’s family suffered yet more unimaginable tragedy when his Dad Ian and little brother Milo, 5, also died of brain tumours. The charity that bears his name has helped so many other children in the same situation and the team taking on the walk are doing so to help even more.

All money raised will support children with brain tumours and their families, raise awareness of signs and symptoms of this terrible disease, and fund research into better and kinder treatments.
