The Tonbridge Child Contact Centre is nationally accredited by the NACCC. It gives children the opportunity to meet and build relationships with parents that they no longer live with. The Centre focuses on giving children time to spend with their parent in a friendly, relaxed, and fun environment, making a potentially hard situation easier. The centre is used by parents who have not had contact with children and need a neutral, friendly place to re-establish their relationship, and/or parents who do not have suitable accommodation for contact visits or who live a distance away. The centre can also be used as a ‘handover’ point for children.

Story

Some of you may not know this but twice a month myself and my Husband volunteer at a Children's Contact centre. The centre is a place where children who, for one reason or another, cannot live with a parent thus for two hours every two weeks they can come and be with their absent parent and be together in a secure environment in the hope that eventually both parent and child are able to have more time together outside the centre and the parent can become a more consistent presence in their child’s life.

The Tonbridge Child Contact Centre is a registered charity and is funded solely from donations and fundraising and that’s where you wonderful people come in BECAUSE on Thursday, 13th April I will attempt.... THE TUBE CHALLENGE!

Wait, what's Jack doing now...?

Well, in one working day I will be travelling through each and every one of the 272 stations on the London Underground network a journey that will take me through 250 miles of track. The rules are official and simple...

- I must travel through each and every tube station within one working day. Thus for me I will be starting my trip at 0515 at Uxbridge Station and will (hopefully) be finished 272 stations later at 0030 at Upminster and will consist of me taking over 50 individual trains throughout the day.

- I do not need to get off at every station but I do need to travel through it on a tube train

- I can use other modes of transport to get between station but cannot use cars or taxis

Any financial support you can provide will really provide a spring in my step as I begin my 18+ hour expedition. I’ve set a target of £1000 but trust me ANYTHING we receive will go a long way to helping so many families and you can be assured that every single penny will go directly into paying for the centres upkeep.
