Stockport Grammar School is a co-educational, independent day school for children aged 3-18 years. We recognise the value of each pupil as an individual, and the importance of nurturing every aspect of their personality and potential – intellectual, creative, emotional, physical and spiritual.

Story

On July 12th, I will be joining 20 others in tackling the UK Three Peaks Challenge— an attempt to scale the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within just 24 hours.

This is all in aid of one of my best friends who suffered a tragic accident, sustaining a severe spinal injury, resulting in paralysis from the waist down and confining him to a wheelchair.

This challenge is not going to be a walk in the park....

This gruelling test entails trekking 23 miles with a total ascent exceeding 3,000m, coupled with 500 miles of driving. We'll battle unpredictable British weather, fight through blisters, and push past hunger and exhaustion. But every step we take is fuelled by a powerful purpose.

However, for those who know me, if we don’t complete it, I’ll be fuming! It is tough… but doable.

Far more importantly though, this is a cause very close to my heart.

This challenge is our way of turning adversity into opportunity.

We've created a fund to offer means-tested financial support to pupils at Stockport Grammar School, Ciaran’s alma mater.

The funds raised will give children the chance to experience the transformative power of outdoor adventures—just as Ciaran did growing up.
