Story
Growing up being hard of hearing as a young Norfolk bor, in terms of what I could/can hear, I never knew any different. Things that were different to others were the regular hospital trips, the tests, the microscopes, the doctors, the conversations with doctor's big words I could hear, the conversations I couldn't, the frustration, the confusion, the knowing that something wasn't quite right whilst not really understanding why, but still always feeling lucky for the hearing out of one ear that I did/do have.
In two weeks time (Sunday 13th April), I'm running the Paris Marathon and am raising money for the Norfolk Deaf Children's Society. A wonderful charity run solely by volunteers to support deaf children, young deaf people and the families of these guys to enhance their lives and not only provide them with opportunity but invaluable support that gives some light amongst the confusion.
I know this is very last minute, but if you have anything spare, even just a fiver, myself and the NDCS would hugely appreciate a donation to further the charity's excellent work. Fundraising is essential for these guys to survive with funding being cut in recent years, so truly and please, every little helps!
Thank you so much and please give me that final push to the start line by donating today :)
