Story
I am running the 2026 London Marathon for ACT.
As some of you may already know at the beginning of 2025 my twin sister and our families lives were turned upside down as she was diagnosed with Leukaemia at 12 weeks pregnant.
She was referred straight to Addenbrookes and they have been caring for her ever since.
Addenbrookes have continuously been first class. From her haematology consultant, obstetrician, fetal medicine team, Haematology day unit staff, wards nurses to the porters, and many more the support for Amy and our family has been unwavering and their medical care even more impressive.
Watching someone you care for go through hell is something I wouldn't wish on anyone but under Addenbrookes we have always been safe in the knowledge that Amy is receiving the highest level of medical care possible.
Amy's prognosis is positive, having had 4 rounds of chemotherapy and multiple hospital stays whilst carrying the 3rd baby De Silva and looking after her other two boys she has ensured that she will always be my hero.
Please give generously to the cause, so that someone elses hero receives the first rate care they deserve.
