Story
This summer, I am taking on the challenge of running the Summer Green Man ultra marathon, a 45-mile run around Bristol with an elevation gain of 3100 feet. My motivation for this endeavor goes beyond personal achievement; it is deeply rooted in raising awareness for Moebius Syndrome, a rare disorder that a child in my class has.
Every day, this child demonstrates incredible strength and resilience in overcoming the challenges posed by Moebius Syndrome. There are only around 200 cases in the UK, which means many people are unaware of this condition and its impact on those affected. The absence of the 6th and 7th cranial nerves leads to significant difficulties, including trouble with facial expressions, chewing, swallowing, and even speech. These challenges can result in respiratory complications and other health issues that affect daily life.
I am committed to supporting the Moebius Research Trust because they are at the forefront of research aimed at understanding and ultimately finding a cure for this condition. I kindly ask for your support in this cause; every donation will go directly to advancing research efforts that can change lives. Together, we can make a difference for those living with Moebius Syndrome. Thank you for considering contributing to this important cause. The event is on Saturday, 23rd August 2025.
