Miles for Meningitis
Running the length of the UK. 30 days. 1,500km. One life I almost didn’t get to live.
In 2009, when I was just 14 years old, I nearly lost my life to meningococcal meningitis.
It happened suddenly. What started as feeling unwell quickly became something far more serious. Thanks to the incredible care I received at Bristol Children’s Hospital, I survived. But many families are not as fortunate.
Meningitis can take a life in hours. It doesn’t discriminate. It affects babies, teenagers, adults — and it leaves lasting physical and emotional scars on countless families every year.
Now, as I enter my 30s and returning home from my years of travelling ive had alot of time to reflect on how lucky ive been to live the life i have
In August 2026, I will be running the entire length of the UK — from John o’ Groats to Land’s End — covering approximately 1,500 kilometres in 30 days.
That’s a ultra marathon every single day.
I’ll be doing it self-supported — carrying everything I need, camping along the way, and relying on grit, preparation, and the support of those who believe in this cause.
This challenge is called Miles for Meningitis.
It’s not just about running.
It’s about awareness.
It’s about giving back.
It’s about celebrating a life I almost didn’t get the chance to live.
Every mile I run is for:
The families who have lost loved ones.
The survivors living with long-term impacts
The research that continues to save lives.
Your donation will help fund vital research, raise awareness, and support those affected by meningitis.
Whether it’s £5 or £500, every contribution makes a difference.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page means just as much.
Thank you for supporting Miles for Meningitis — and for being part of something bigger than a run.
Jack
