Most families take recreational play for granted. For families of children with special needs, this is impossible for some and extremely difficult for most. The aim of Swings and Smiles is to provide a fun and safe facility where children can enjoy play appropriate to their needs and abilities.

Story

🏃‍♂️ I’m Running My First Half Marathon (Send Help… and Donations) 🏃‍♂️

Hello there,

In April 2026, I’ll be attempting something I’ve never done before — running 13.1 miles in one go (yes, voluntarily). It’s my first ever half marathon, and while my legs are already questioning my life choices, I’m doing it for an amazing cause: Swings and Smiles.

They’re a fantastic local charity that supports children with disabilities and their families — giving them a safe, inclusive space to play, connect, and smile (as the name promises). They’re also the charity partner of my workplace, and I’m running alongside three brave colleagues who’ve somehow agreed this is a good idea.

My goal is to raise £400, and I’d massively appreciate any donations you can throw my way. Every penny goes directly to Swings and Smiles, helping them continue the incredible work they do for families in our community.

So if you want to support a great cause and witness me hobble across the finish line like a broken penguin, please donate — and share this page if you can!

Thanks so much for the support 💙
