Story
Here we go! I have signed up to the Newcastle Inflatable 5k, happening on Saturday 22nd August 2026! I will be completing the course to help raise much appreciated and needed funds for Cats Protection, more specifically Tyneside Cat Centre, where I am currently a Cat Care and Fundraising volunteer.
The reason I have signed up to this event to raise money for Cats Protection is because since I started volunteering in September 2025 I have seen firsthand just how much of a difference every pound can make to the cats in our care!
Just in my short time volunteering I have seen so many cats come into our care and go on to find their loving forever home. I have also seen many cats who required additional medical attention and have received top class care from our vets and the vet practices who work alongside us. Every single penny helps ensure every cat is cared for, looked after and supported until they find their family.
Your donation really could make a huge difference - just £10 could feed two cats in our care for 25 days!
I have set my initial fundraising target at £100 but I hope we can not only hit this target, but exceed it for all the lovely and adorable cats we help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! (366 days in a leap year!)
Here is just a tiny few of the cats I have been privileged to look after in my volunteering role over the past few months:

A bit more information about cats protection:
Cats Protection help more cats than any other organisation and we want to help millions more. We are a dedicated community of passionate employees, volunteers, supporters and partners, working together to make life better for millions of cats and the people who care for them.
We are the voice of cats in society and we speak up for their protection.
We’re working towards a society where every cat is treated with kindness and respect.
Making a better life for cats, because life is better with cats.
