Running 30miles, wearing a 30kg weight vest for Pembrokeshire Mind

30kg for 30miles at 30yrs · 26 October 2024
30.
Turning 30 has made me want to achieve something on a deeper level. As a long term sufferer of poor mental health, I believe, that to achieve greatness one has to suffer & endure.
This idea was spawned from the notion that our mental health often weighs us down, and we all try to hide it, silently carrying it around day to day. As a direct reflection of this, I’ve decided to physically carry the weight. Matching the age I'm about to turn with carrying 30kg for 30miles, in aid of the local charity - Mind Pembrokeshire.
I have been fortunate to work globally, while also bearing witness to poor mental health at all ages, and in all walks of life.. but I have always come home to Pembrokeshire as the only place I can truly switch off and find peace. With that in mind, I have chosen to raise awareness and money for the great charity of Mind, Pembrokeshire. I’d like to be able to help on a local level, see where any money raised goes, and even meet the people on the front line that run the support groups, while keeping such vital services open and active!
I will be running the 30miles at Llys Y Fran, starting at 06:00am on October 26th. There will be a 'Roots to Recovery' project present where you can see the work this fabulous group do, join me for a lap, and if you’re able to donate or just show up in support id really appreciate it.
