Jack Beckett is raising money for CHIPS

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

We offer play and social opportunities for children with additional needs aged 3 to 19. Simple play is vital in any child’s development. It is not only fun, play is a key component of healthy living by enabling good physical, emotional, mental and social development.

Story

I am thrilled to announce that I will be running in the London Marathon 2025 with the aim of raising funds for CHIPS. This charity holds a special place in my heart, as my niece, Isla, who has autism, benefits greatly from their support and programs.

CHIPS is dedicated to providing inclusive play opportunities for children with additional needs, ensuring that every child has the chance to enjoy, learn, and develop through play. Witnessing the positive impact that CHIPS not only has had on Isla’s life, but also on the lives of my brother and his partner, I feel incredibly motivated to support this wonderful cause.

Running the London marathon was always a dream of mine, which started when I was a child and would always enjoy playing with my Granddad’s running medals, many of which were London Marathon medals from the Flora days. I made this dream a reality in 2024 but I have to admit it was bittersweet.

Whilst I was over the moon to have finished the face, I couldn’t shake the niggling thought that I fell short of my sub 4 hour target. So this year, the first goal is to raise lots of money for a worthwhile cause, but the second goal is to right that wrong.

With your support and encouragement, I hope to surpass this personal milestone while contributing to a charity that makes a significant difference to the lives of many children, including my niece.

I invite you to join me in supporting CHIPS by donating and spreading the word. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and help create a world where every child, regardless of their abilities, can thrive and experience the joy of play.
