As many of you will know we lost Vince, my husband of 25 years, and dad and hero to Mic and Gio in September 2013. He’d been admitted to LRI for a routine operation, but due to delays, and neglect, four days after his op he developed Sepsis. He’d started with symptoms the day before, but it was Bank Holiday Monday, and no senior staff were working. That delay of 24 hours was too long, and a week later Vince lost his fight, with him also getting Necrotising Fasciitis. To say we were all in shock was an understatement, and changed all of our lives forever.

I’m now on a mission to tell people the symptoms, in the hope they don’t go through what we did, and get help if needed.

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis.

It raises awareness, and sparks the question: What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.

It also funds our vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. We also lobby government to support our cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
