2024 is the quasquicentennial (125th) year that Southampton Sight has been delivering services in Southampton and to mark this incredible achievement they are encouraging people, especially those living with sight loss, to take part in fundraising activities which put them out of their comfort zone

Story

I am raising money for Southampton Sight (Southampton Society for the Blind). For the last few years I have been taking part in triathlons. This year I will be trying something new in the Swanage Triathlon which includes a 750m sea swim. My ambition is to finish an Olympic distance Tri and this takes me one step closer. I also hope to come first in my age group!

Southampton Sight is a small local charity supporting people to live well with their sight loss. 2024 is their quasicentenial (125th) year delivering services in Southampton and to mark this incredible achievement they are encouraging people (especially those living with sight loss) to take part in activities which put them out of their comfort zone. This experience of challenge and achievement may be one they have never had before and, we hope, will prove to them that there is more in them than they think.

The money raised will support more people living with sight loss to have opportunities to live independently and be fulfilled.
