I'm taking part in Chillswim: Ullswater and attempting to swim the length of Ullswater (7 1/2 miles) to raise money for Grace Foodbank, where I work. We cover the S8 and S17 areas of Sheffield and, like many foodbanks, demand for our services is at record level.

I really can't stress enough just how nervous I am about this. Pool training is going really well but Hathersage Pool is about 27 degrees and has a nice black line on the bottom to keep me going the right way. Ullswater is currently 16 degrees and expected to drop over the next 2 weeks. Going in a straight line in open water is still something of a challenge...My goal is just to finish without being timed out.

I can't guarantee that I will finish but I promise that I will try my best!
