Story
I am the least fit I’ve ever been but I can no longer sit back and watch the horrors in Gaza unfold and do nothing, so have decided to challenge myself to get fit in the next 7 weeks and attempt the Belfast Half Marathon to raise vital funds to support Concern Worldwide’s emergency work in Gaza.
1.9 million people - around 85% of the population of the Gaza Strip have been forced to leave their homes and are in desperate need of food, water, shelter and medical care. Working in Gaza is hard and dangerous but Concern’s trusted partner is delivering much-needed supplies to people who need it.
Concern is supporting the delivery of 50,000 litres of water daily. Providing households with access to clean and safe water. Community awareness campaigns and hygiene promotion activities will also be conducted to improve health conditions and enhance the prevention of communicable diseases.
The entire population in the Gaza Strip (2.23 million) is facing high levels of acute food insecurity and children are particularly vulnerable. Concern is providing seven tonnes of life saving therapeutic food and medical care to help children suffering from acute malnutrition.
Any sponsorship I raise will go directly to helping Concern provide food, water and sanitation to those most in need and help alleviate suffering on the ground. Your support no matter how small is greatly appreciated - thank you 🙏
