Story
Alongside my uni friend Andy Nichol and my new Guinean friend Besmor I am setting up a software academy in Conakry
We have several mutually supporting aims
To further the education of the students of CRS
To support the local community build its computer skill.
To provide a revenue stream to help secure the future of the school.
To enable Guineans to support the development of the Guinean economy by developing software for local businesses and organisations
Our first activity will be to run a free 4-6 week coding summer school for students at CRS.
We have secured £25,000 to get the venture off the ground but will need more to get it through the first two years when we aim to be winning commercial contracts that will cover costs and deliver support to CRS.
