Jack Ward is raising money for RETT UK

Running the length of the UK · 26 February 2025

Imagine being told your toddler you thought was healthy, but perhaps slow to progress, in fact had a rare and devastating disability that would leave them needing lifelong 24/7 care. Rett syndrome changes lives irrevocably. With your support Rett UK is there from the beginning. #ToKnowHerIsToLoveHer

Story

I’m going to be attempting to run from John O’Groats in Scotland to Lands end in Cornwall to raise money and awareness for Rett Syndrome (a brief description can be found below). The run will start on Wednesday 26th February and finish on 29th of March, carrying all my belongings with me along the way, camping and staying in the occasional hotel along the way!

I had never heard of Rett syndrome until a year or so ago when my friends daughter was diagnosed with it. To see more of Poppy check out her Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/share/1GgspowggU/?mibextid=wwXIfr

If you can spare anything for this important cause no matter how small it would be appreciated!

Rett syndrome is devastating for a family. Having suspected something was not quite be right, suddenly they are told their child will be profoundly disabled, with multiple health problems including epilepsy, a curved spine, breathing problems, feeding difficulties and gut/bowel issues.

Rett UK is there to pick up the pieces; emotional support, high quality, accurate advice & information, advocacy, reducing isolation, empowering families, building emotional resilience and helping the person with Rett syndrome live a life worth living.
