Story
This September, I'm running the Great North Run to raise both money and awareness for Fibromyalgia Action UK. This cause is personal to me, for the last 3 years I have had to see my friend Ellie navigate life whilst suffering with her illness. I've seen the strength it takes for her to wake up every day and fight through widespread pain and exhaustion that most people can't even see. For people living with Fibromyalgia, even the simplest of tasks can be a mountain to climb and take away a lot of everyday activities we take for granted.
Watching someone I care about navigate those challenges changed my perspective on resilience and seeing her never give up, even in the toughest of times, made be proud. It's an invisible battle, and I want to do my part to make sure the people fighting it feel seen and supported.
All donations of any size are greatly appreciated and go directly to Fibromyalgia Action UK.
