Story

On 27 September, I'll be running 26.2 miles through Berlin; my first ever marathon and I'm raising money for Marie Curie.

Running a marathon is something I've always wanted to do and along the way, I can raise money for people living with cancer and the families standing beside them.

My uncle died from it far too young. And he's not the only person close to me who's been taken by it. Every time I think about who I'm running for, the list gets longer. It feels like cancer is everywhere and if you're reading this, you've probably got names of your own.

I can't do anything about the diagnoses. But I can run, and I can ask. Marie Curie nurses sit with people through the hardest nights of their lives, and they're there for the families afterwards too. £20 covers an hour of nursing care at home. That's the difference your donation makes real hours, real people, real families.

I've never run a marathon before. Training will be brutal. I'm genuinely nervous about the distance. But every mile in Berlin is going to feel a lot easier knowing people backed me to do it.

Anything you can give means a huge amount. Thank you for reading this far.
