Story
I am a neurology doctor currently researching the causes of Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia and have been lucky to spend time with people who have the condition.
HSP is a little-known disease that causes profound difficulties with walking as well as many other symptoms such as pain and bladder problems. It worsens over time and there are no treatments to stop this. Because it is rare many people with HSP can feel isolated and doctors are often unfamiliar with it.
The HSP Support Group does an amazing job supporting people with HSP, creating a national network and raising the profile of this rare disease. I would love to raise money to help it continue to do these things and so I will be running the Newport Marathon in April 2025.
Please give generously for a great cause (and maybe consider a bonus donation if I break the magic 3 hour barrier!).
