Story
We want to support children and families who are facing the toughest battles, and to help carry forward the legacy of Bradley Lowery. Bradley showed incredible courage and brought people together in a way football rarely does. The love and care shown by Sunderland and Everton throughout his life, left a lasting impact on us and so many others.
That connection between two football clubs, two sets of supporters, and one remarkable young lad is why we have chosen to raise funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation, continuing the incredible work they do to support families when they need it most.
We (Jacob, Joe, and our mate Ritchie) are setting off from the Stadium of Light to run all the way to Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium over six days.
The challenge will consist of five ultra marathons, finishing with a half marathon on the final day, arriving in time for the final away game of the season.
We’ll be travelling entirely on foot, staying overnight in Darlington, Ripon, Bradford, Rochdale and St Helens, and pushing ourselves to our limits for a cause that truly matters especially considering none of us are runners and our preparation has been, at best, questionable.
We’re all lifelong Sunderland supporters and know just how powerful football can be. It has the ability to bring people together, lift communities, and offer hope something that feels incredibly important in today’s world.
Any donations are really appreciated and we hope to celebrate our run with a victory at The Hill Dickinson next month!
