2026 Update

Last year I decided to take my support of the RAF family to a new level and pledge to raise £100,000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund before my 13th Birthday. Up to 2025 I had already raised £55,000 by taking on various WW2 RAF themed challenges like my Battle of Britain and Dunkirk Challenges as well as climbing various mountains. My fundraising target of £45,000 will see me reach my target so any support you can give me to help me reach my target will be greatly appreciated. Last year I did a Dambuster Challenge cycling across Germany - this year I’m going to climb one of the highest mountains in the world and plant my RAF Ensign on the summit. In the meantime I’m training all over the UK and world - you can follow my adventures on Facebook and Twitter by searching for Jacob The Pilot.

On 18th August 2025 I will be setting off on a 200+ kilometre cycle ride and wild camp across Germany starting from the Eder Dam and hopefully arriving at the Bever Dam five days later. Just to add to the challenge come wind, rain or shine I will be wild camping along the route.

I first started fundraising for the RAF Benevolent Fund in 2019 after I met the Red Arrows when I was five years old. To date I have raised approximately £55,000 for the RAF charity mainly taking on WW2 RAF themed challenges or climbing mountains.

In 2019 I met Squadron Leader Johnny Johnson DFM, MBE who was the last surviving member of 617 Squadron that took part in the infamous ‘Dambusters’ raid over Germany in 1943. He told me about this mission and flying in Lancaster bombers during WW2 which helped underpin my love of aircraft and my ambition to become a pilot in the RAF when I'm older. Now I’m finally old enough I’m going to cycle across Germany visiting the five dams and wild camping over five days as a tribute to all of 617 Squadron who took part in this raid and hopefully raise some much needed funds for the RAF Family that I hope to be part of one day.

Please sponsor me if you can and share my fundraiser with friends and family in the hope they’ll sponsor me as well. My mission is to reach a grand total of £100,000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund before I join the Air Cadets in 2026. Thank You.
