Story
Mental health is a crucial aspect of our well-being that affects everyone, yet it often remains stigmatized and overlooked. Every day, countless individuals struggle with feelings of isolation, anxiety, and despair, which can lead to tragic outcomes, including suicide.
Like most people, I expect you or someone you know has suffered from or is suffering from mental health issues. Unfortunately, some of you, like myself, have lost people to that battle. That is why I have chosen to walk the Jurassic coast marathon of 26miles and raise money for this charity.
Dorset Mind is a local charity who has supported Dorset’s mental health for over 75 years. They connect and change minds, bringing people together to make genuine change within their communities.
The charity supports both adults and children by delivering life-changing services, including active monitoring and triage in Doctor’s surgeries, counselling, wellbeing groups, and mentoring.
Volunteers are at the heart of Dorset Mind working across the charity, for more information on roles check our website .
