Couch to Half Ironman in 100 Days – Supporting ChemoHero
There was a time when having a goal was just part of who I was. Whether it was on the rugby pitch, in the gym, pushing through a triathlon, or taking on a CrossFit challenge, I thrived on staying active and constantly working toward something. But over the past few months, even years, that version of me has felt a little out of reach. Life got busy, motivation dipped, and slowly the routines that once defined me faded. Gym classes were missed, goals were put on hold, and I found myself drifting further away from the fitness and mindset I once loved.
So, I’ve decided it’s time to change that.
On 5th July 2026, I’ll be taking on Holkham Half Ironman and here’s the catch: I’ve given myself just 100 days to train, starting from scratch whilst holding on to whatever fitness I have left.
This is more than just a race. It’s a personal comeback. A challenge to rebuild discipline and fitness level… one swim, one ride, and one run at a time.
But I don’t want to do this just for me.
I’m raising money for ChemoHero Charity, an incredible cause supporting individuals and families going through cancer treatment. While I’m pushing my limits by choice, so many others are facing battles they never signed up for, with strength and courage every single day.
ChemoHero provides thoughtfully put-together “boxes of kindness” filled with practical items to help manage the side effects of treatment, along with small comforts to make an incredibly tough time just a little bit easier. These boxes don’t just provide physical support, they remind people that they’re not alone during one of the hardest times of their lives.
If my journey can raise awareness and support for even one person going through that fight, every aching muscle, and every tough training session will be worth it.
As I swap the Couch for Kudos, and Lounging for Lycra, if you can, please consider supporting me on this journey with any donation possible.
You can keep an eye on my training here - https://strava.app.link/zZeRfBN4i2b - where you’ll see me completing around 8 hours of training a week, over 6 days a week.
Let’s turn this comeback into something bigger than just a finish line.
Thanks in advanced for the support not just for me, but also ChemoHero.
