For Nana and Carol – and for Everyone Affected by Alzheimer’s
I’m raising money in memory of my nan, who recently passed away with Alzheimer’s. Sadly, it’s something that’s affected our family more than once — and it’s time to do something about it.
My nan was a character in the best way. She loved elephants, clapped completely out of time (with zero shame), and made a top-tier meal of fish fingers, chips, and beans — followed by a bowl of Weetabix in the morning, no questions asked.
She also accidentally kickstarted my love for movies. When I stayed at hers, she’d fall asleep way too early, leaving me up to no good watching films I probably shouldn’t have. She even once took me to see The Inbetweeners 2 at the cinema — possibly without knowing what it was about!
Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease, but I’m holding onto the funny, warm, and completely chaotic memories I have of her. If you’re able to donate, it’ll help fund support and research for people living with it now, and hopefully make life a little brighter for them and their families.
Thanks so much for reading and supporting if you can.
