Turkey-Syria Earthquake 2023
Campaign by Save the Children (RCN 213890 (England & Wales), SC039570 (Scotland))
Two earthquakes struck southern Turkey (now known as Türkiye), near the Syrian border on 6th February.

Story

As a school, we are holding a Charities Week to raise money for the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.

Two earthquakes have struck southern Turkey (now known as Türkiye), near the Syrian border.

Reports say more than 21,000 people have been killed and thousands of families have been forced from their homes, exposing them to freezing winter temperatures and snowstorms.

Our school's houses are holding events all week to raise money for this appeal. One of these events sees two staff attempt to commute by canoe to and from school 3 times throughout the week from 17 - 21 April, from Bolton-le-Sands to Lancaster!

All donations are greatly appreciated and will go to Save the Children's appeal so they can continue delivering the emergency relief that is so desperately needed.

Thank you.
