Story
On Monday June 17th 2024, the brightest light in our lives and the lives of many went out when Jacob Arthur Davinson passed away following a seven month fight against DIPG/DMG.
During his ordeal, Jacob was under the care of Shooting Star Children's Hospices and the care that he received was nothing short of wonderful. He attended Hydrotherapy and Music Therapy almost every week. He loved each and every second of it and the relief that these sessions and the people that ran them offered Jacob was extremely valuable during what was a torrid time for him both physically and mentally.
On the week of his passing, Shooting Stars looked after Jacobs Mummy, myself and my mother incredibly well. All while looking after Jacob as he rested, treating him with a level of respect and dignity that I didn't even know was possible. This care and support continues to this day and has extended to Jacobs little sister Sophia until September 2027.
As thanks for the past and continued efforts of the Hospice and everyone involved, 18 people including myself, Jacobs Mummy, uncles, cousins and several other close family members and friends will be taking on a 'Tough Mudder' obstacle course on Saturday September 20th both in memory of our beloved Jacob and in support of Shooting Stars Children's Hospices.
