I will be competing in a charity boxing event on the 21st December 2024 to raise money for SCIE - The Social Care Institute for Excellence. SCIE is an independent charity that works to improve social care through evidence and research to support people that draw upon care and support to live independent lives, doing the things they love.

Both one of my best mates and his family members are deeply affected in life through different conditions and SCIE works with people in similar circumstances to be able to do day to day things independently making their lives a little easier and less lonely.

My mate has a rare leg condition which affects abilities such as walking and balance and can cause severe pain as well as going through multiple surgeries that will continue through his whole life and he is only 22.

His nan Daisy has early stages of vascular dementia and as she deteriorates things get harder and harder. Nicci my mates mom, takes care of Daisy but things can become hard and a struggle for the whole family. SCIE will help people who are not as fortunate to have a Nicci to help people.

Finally, my mum. My mum has helped me through so much and helped create the path I walk on and so much would not be possible without her hard work and dedication not only to me but the rest of the family and even my mates family. She also works at SCIE helping and leading the organisation to be able to do these amazing things.
