We are raising funds for the Institute of Cancer Research to support research into childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukamia. We also support Shropshire/ West Mids families with children undergoing treatment through the distribution of grants and gifts.

Story

Hi,

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Prevent ALL

My fundraising for Cancer Charities started with the Mary Rose Rides 🌹 in memory of my beautiful Mum, we raised £7,868 total which was a combination of personal rides £2,106 and a cycling sportive contribution of £5,852 for Macmillan Cancer Support this included a huge pause in fundraising bought on through lock down!

With a group of close friend and the support of my family we set off to ride our bikes 🚴 to help more families and loved ones who are living with cancer or the loss of a precious one.

So the next chapter for supporting others is children living with cancer, something my mum would off supported whole heartedly because this is now once again very close to our hearts, another member of my family, my second cousin Tommy.

So I’m kicking this off with a Mary Rose🌹 “SkyDive” Saturday 7th October at 12.00pm location Hibaldstow Airfield, Hibaldstow, North Lincolnshire DN20 9NN fingers crossed for good weather!

Here’s a few words from Tommys mummy my cousin Joanne ❤️

Here's a little background on us.....

Our little boy Tommy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in April 2021. Before his diagnosis, he had always been a fit, healthy & strong little boy, the youngest of three boys but almost certainly the loudest! We started to notice small changes that we rationalised as completely innocent symptoms, until the pieces started to fit together and our worst nightmare came true.

Tommy is now 6 and two years into his three year treatment plan, he is doing well! He tackles everything (almost!) with a smile. We have settled into a routine with his chemo treatment and come to terms (as much as you can) with the situation we find ourselves in. As long as Tommy continues to do well, so will we, he keeps us positive and smiling. And like any 6 year old, her certainly keeps us busy.

We decided to set up the charity to help other families locally who find themselves in the devastating situation of a child's cancer diagnosis. We also felt compelled to support research into the prevention of childhood ALL. The Institute of Cancer Research are doing amazing work and making steps forward in this direction. We hope one day a preventative medicine will be found and much heartache will be saved

Supporting a small charity really helps them make a difference so any donation is hugely appreciated 🙏

Jacqueline ❤️🌹
