Story
I am jumping off the Orbital at Stratford to raise money for this charity who do such valuable work in supporting my health and social care colleagues who work with those who have mental health needs
Footesteps Foundation was founded in 2021 and forms part of the loving legacy of Jenny Foote, a wonderful young woman who spent her life supporting others and particularly those suffering from mental health issues.
Our vision is to provide a unique support service to nighttime health and social care workers so that they feel valued, skilled and above all safe. We do this through bespoke training, education, mentoring, mental health support and physical protection measures.
The foundation was formed by a group of people who share a vision to make night working for health and social care staff valued, safe and skilled. We have come together to forge something positive out of the tragic death of Jenny Foote who was providing night support when she was murdered by a mental health service user in 2015. There are thousands of health and social care night workers who staff hospital wards, care homes and hostels when the rest of the country is sleeping, and we want to support them!
