Story

JDRF, the leading global type 1 diabetes charity, works every day to help people live better with the condition, prevent people ever developing it and one day, hopefully find a cure. They do this by funding research, campaigning for access to all treatments and connecting and supporting the type 1 community.

Type 1 diabetes is a SERIOUS autoimmune condition that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks beta cells within the pancreas, which then stop producing insulin. As a result, glucose levels in your blood start to rise, and your body can’t function unless you replace the insulin.

Long-term, high and low glucose levels can cause complications including heart disease, kidney disease, problems with eyesight and loss of limbs.

Currently, there is NO CURE.

We all know of someone who is affected by Type 1 Diabetes!

So let's try and help the wonderful researchers get closer to finding a cure. Any donation would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
