Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Mental Health Miles in May - Running, walking, (crawling – obviously I’m joking) but however I get there I will do 100 miles in May (and obviously not in the car!!).

I think it’s really important to link physical exercise into mental health and wellbeing but also listen to your body if and when it’s saying ‘No, not today’. I will be writing a weekly mini-blog about my mental health and how many miles I have done that week.

I started to run at the start of lockdown. I was still coming into work every day. But the uncertainty of life in Lockdown 1.0 was hard, hard for everyone. So I discovered running – I did the couch to 5k. This is where I discovered the connection between a balanced amount of exercise having a massive positive impact on my Mental Health.

There are times where my running dips out and I really do notice this having a massive impact on my mental wellness.

Mental Health awareness week takes place 15th-21st May which is why I chose May for my month challenge.

My goal is two pronged – To re-establish a balanced routine where I am running as much as possible but also listening to my body on when it needs a little break.

I have always had a passion for supporting such a wonderful organisation so If I can do that whilst doing something I love but at the same time as making it a challenge, I will do that. I have never felt so settled in an organisation than I do now, so why not do it for National Star!?

All donations possible would help, but if I am able to raise at least £2 per mile that would be greatly appreciated. So the overall aim is to raise at least £200.
