Hi everyone,

My name is Jade, and I’m the Reception Manager at the Claremont Hotel. This year, myself and my colleague Les, our wonderful Head Chef, will be taking on the Parish Walk in loving memory of our dear friend and colleague, Linda.

Linda sadly passed away last year after a short illness, and if we’re honest, we’ve never truly gotten over losing her. The hotel has never been quite the same without her, she was the person who made everything feel okay, no matter what kind of day you were having. She meant so much to all of us.

We have chosen to raise funds for Cruse Bereavement Support Isle of Man, a charity incredibly close to our hearts. We are so lucky to have them here on the Isle of Man. The team at Cruse are absolutely wonderful and brilliant at what they do. Grief can feel overwhelming and lonely, but it’s so important to remember that you never have to go through it alone. Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness, it’s a step towards healing, and having someone there to listen and support you can make all the difference.

Myself and Les both work full time and are still training as hard as we possibly can, and we are determined to reach that finish line. We cannot wait to see what we can raise for this wonderful charity in Linda’s memory.
