Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child or young person will ever face. Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, they have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives. Initially a charity supporting those with loss to suicide, however they have grown which has enabled them to support so many more families.

My family and I have personally been supported by Winston’s Wish when I was a teenager, and their support for the three of us was incredible. Knowing how important and supportive they were to us, just makes this so much more meaningful. Without them I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to talk about how I was feeling, or share my worries. I aim to raise awareness, and some much needed money to enable them to continue doing the fantastic work they do!

In my congratulations email Winston’s wish outlined the cost of many of their support resources, many of which I still have and have meant a lot to me over the years.

If anyone knows me they know I am not a big runner, usually nothing more than a 5k, and I’ve only done one 10k so this is quite a challenge for me personally!

I am participating in the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025, a marathon event taking place on April 6th, 2025. My target is to raise £500-£1000 for Winston's Wish. Your support will make a real difference in helping bereaved children and young people cope with their loss and rebuild their lives.
