Story
Hatzola Herts is a volunteer-run emergency ambulance service serving Elstree and Borehamwood (WD6) in South West Hertfordshire. Operating 24/7 alongside the NHS and East of England Ambulance Service, it provides free, rapid pre-hospital care, with average response times of 5–7 minutes.
Supported by over 100 trained volunteers, including first responders, paramedics, and doctors, it uses life-saving equipment such as defibrillators, oxygen, and resuscitation devices. Rooted in the local Jewish community but serving everyone, Hatzola Herts is CQC-regulated and funded entirely by donations, which help cover its £300,000 yearly costs and sustain its services.
Over the past few months, I’ve faced some health challenges, and throughout that time Hatzola Herts has been there for me whenever I needed urgent support, at any hour of the day or night. Their volunteers regularly leave their families, work, and personal commitments to respond to emergencies, and I am incredibly grateful for the care and kindness they have shown me.
Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of mine. At times, because of my recent health struggles, that dream felt increasingly out of reach. That is why taking on the 2026 Marathon means so much to me.
I’ll be giving this challenge everything I have, and I would love to use it as an opportunity to raise as much money as possible for Hatzola Herts. Every donation will help them continue providing their phenomenal, life-saving care and support to the community.
