Story
I’m running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 for Pancreatic Cancer UK
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of my wonderful Nanna, who we sadly lost in 2011 at just 59 years old. She was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine type of pancreatic cancer, and despite her strength and courage, we didn’t get enough time with her.
I was exceptionally close with my Nanna, and I still feel robbed of the time we should have had together, and of the chance for her to see me grow into the woman I am today. Running in her memory feels like a way to honour her life and spirit, and to do something positive in the face of such a devastating loss.
This will also be a huge personal challenge for me — I have never been a runner, so taking on 13.1 miles is something completely new. Every mile will be tough, but every mile will be for Nanna, and for the thousands of other families affected by pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest cancers to face. Survival rates remain heartbreakingly low, and more awareness, research, and support are urgently needed. That’s why I’ve chosen to run for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity working tirelessly to support patients and families, fund groundbreaking research, and push for earlier diagnosis and better treatments.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart, and every step I take will be in my Nanna’s memory — and for everyone who deserves more time with their loved ones.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world. Your support will help bring not just hope, but real change — a chance for earlier diagnosis, better treatments, and more precious time with the people we love.
💜 Thank you for supporting me on this journey. Together, we can make a difference.
'MORE THAN HOPE'
