I am fundraising for the Canadian Liver foundation because the liver is one of the most vital organs in our body and many people struggle with liver health and reduced functionality and quality of life because of this.

I have personally struggled since childhood with two different liver/ autoimmune diseases-

Primary sclerosing cholangitis, and AutoImmune Hepatitis.

This results in my bile ducts becoming damaged due to my white blood cells attacking each other/ healthy cells in my liver. Leaving scar tissue, and causing a back up of bilirubin which enters my bloodstream and can cause damage to the rest of my body.

This cause is close to my heart not only because I understand the struggle of feeling exhausted and unable to keep up with the stress of life due to my condition and I want to help others get the treatment and help they need when they are struggling, but also because they work in support of the Canadian cancer society, and I have recently lost my grandmother to cancer.

This fundraiser is going to be backed by an MMA event I am competing in and I would love to see some of those willing to donate attend the event as well.
