Story
Hey friendly people.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. I am very lucky to be joined with my very good friend and running buddy Will Ponsford who is helping me raise money for the Paget's association while we help each other in preparation for the London Marathon.
Jaime's Blurb.... Will's to follow.
This is my first Marathon, which I am excited to be taking part in. Hopefully not my last, but don't ask me that just after I've finished it.
I'm very fortunate that I've got a space and have the opportunity to raise awareness and money for the Paget's association. Paget's disease is where bone, that would normally renew or repair itself as we grow older, does so at an increased rate; causing abnormalities in the bone’s structure. Paget’s disease is the second most common metabolic bone disease after osteoporosis. Though the disease is not life threatening, it can seriously affect someone's quality of life and also can put extra strain on the heart.
I have been running for just over 5 years now, after my daughter persuaded me to go to Parkrun. Although I have a fairly active job and enjoyed physical exercise, running wasn't 'my thing'. So now that I have caught the bug, have good health and the opportunity do take part - I'm going to give it my best shot. No records will be broken but I plan to enjoy the ride and support a wonderful charity along the way.
