Story
Last November, our dearest friends Jack and Antonia faced the unimaginable loss of their daughter, Lorelei, just three days before her second birthday.
Lorelei had come home with a temperature, which was being monitored and managed. All seemed well — but that night she developed sepsis, which led to encephalitis.
The strength, grace, and bravery Jack and Antonia have shown in the face of such heartbreak has been immeasurable. We are all so proud of them.
Exercise has been a big part of their grieving process and I am delighted that Jack will be running the 2026 London Marathon in support of WellChild. You can find his JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/jack-cowmeadow-1
To honour Lorelei, her parents, and to support other families facing the same devastating circumstances, I will be running the 2026 London Marathon for the Bodie Hodges Charity. This incredible organisation gives hope to families bereaved of a child, offering services that help them grieve, rebuild, and remember.
When Lorelei passed, we promised her parents that while her time walking amongst us had come to an end, her impact on the world had only just begun. This marathon is just the first step in keeping that lifelong promise.
