26.2 Miles for Pilgrims Hospices | Brighton Marathon

Jake Bruce is raising money for Pilgrims Hospices In East Kent

Brighton Marathon 2026 · 12 April 2026 ·

Team Pilgrims runners take on the seaside marathon through the buzzing streets of Brighton & Hove!

Story

On 12th April I’ll be taking on the Brighton Marathon, and I’ve decided to use the challenge to raise money for the incredible work done by Pilgrims Hospices.

I’m fortunate enough not to have personally needed the support of Pilgrims Hospices, but I know many families across Kent who have. The care, dignity, and compassion they provide to people and their loved ones during some of the most difficult times imaginable is truly remarkable.

Hospices rely heavily on donations to continue providing this vital care, which is why I wanted to challenge myself and raise money while taking on my first marathon.

Over the past few months I’ve been putting in the miles training, and while race day will no doubt be tough, every run feels that bit more worthwhile knowing it’s helping support such an important cause.

The marathon is 26.2 miles, and it would be amazing if the distance could help raise just as much support. For example, if 100 people donated £10, we could raise £1,000 for Pilgrims Hospices and the vital care they provide to families across Kent.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean a lot. Even £5 or £10 can make a real difference.

Thank you so much for your support — it genuinely means a lot and will help Pilgrims Hospices continue their incredible work for people who need it most.
